Wall Mounted Mailboxes

The vast majority of mailboxes Mailbox Mania supply, both horizontal & vertical types, can be wall/surface mounted. It is the most common and cost effective way of installing a multiple occupancy mailbox bank or an individual mailbox at a residential property. The back of all multi occupancy boxes are already predrilled for fixing, however most multiple banks come with a fully fitted internal or external surround casing around the bank. You would either wallfix by simply drilling through the existing predrilled holes from the inside of the mailboxes and securing to the wall. Alternatively, on most mailbox banks we supply, free of charge a prefitted wallfixing kit which enables the bank to be “hung & supported” on the wall. The fixing kit can be seen in the options category. This makes the installation process much easier when screwing through the back of the boxes to give the bank the strength and support it needs

On large mailbox banks, whilst surface mounting is fine, dependent on the type of wall being fixed to, support posts maybe required to take the extra weight. Again, all support options can be viewed in the options category. Also, when larger amounts of mailboxes are required to be surface mounted, horizontal boxes are more popular, as their overall surface area is less than that of vertical boxes. Where vertical boxes come into their own is that they have less protrusion from the wall, so in tight spaces such as underneath hallways, when surface mounting, always take protrusion off the wall into account.
