Residential mailboxes are a practical part of your home but they can also look decorative. These kinds of letter boxes can either be basic or you can have one that is a little more elaborate. Here are some hints and tips below to make the most out of residential mailboxes.
You need to put your mailbox in the correct place. This should be near to the outside boundary of your home, close to the pavement and at the correct height, so it is easily accessible for the postman.
Ensure that you dig a hole for a post that is at least twice the size of its width and 1 foot deep.
Once you have put the post in place, you now need to pour concrete around the bottom of it. Once the concrete has hardened you can now fill the hole with some of the soil that was dug up, as this will enable the post to stand alone. Now leave the post for a day or two so it will be stable.
Once the post is stabilised, you need to attach the letter box to the top of the post. There are many different ways to do this and it all depends on what style of mailbox you have purchased and what kind of post you have used. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions when erecting your residential mailbox.
