The cost of a plastic post box or the cost of identity theft? - January 9, 2009
When you think of a post box you think of an ordinary and rather boring part of mundane life. You think of a conventional mail minding post box that has nothing out of the ordinary about it. When you think of those post boxes you are thinking of only a fraction of what is on offer in the post box market today.
You can find letterboxes to tickle almost any fancy you have and you can even give your old post box a make-over so that it looks good as new and shows off your artistic side.
You also get secured mail boxes that go the extra mile in their mail minding duties and actually protect your mail from falling, or forcefully growing feet and walking, into the wrong hands.

Identity theft is a relatively lucrative business these days and growing in popularity as the world economy gets harder to work around. You might not think it at all necessary to protect your mail; after all you send it straight through the shredder once you have finished with it.
A shredder can prevent your identity from being stolen out of your garbage, but it cannot prevent post box mail theft from happening before your shredder even has a chance to see that mail.
Plastic and non-security post boxes may seem a cheap alternative when buying a new post box as secure post boxes can set you a pretty penny out of pocket. But is it really going to cost you less to have your identity stolen and a mountain of debt incurred on your name?
