Post Box Design Choices - October 8, 2008
Post boxes come in many different shapes, sizes, materials, and designs. A wide selection of design choice means that the decision of which residential post box is most ideally suited to you can be a difficult one. First start by considering functionality, such as whether you require increased capacity or the capability to store newspapers or parcels separately from the main post before moving on to consider any special requirements - if you live by the coast then you will need to consider those designs that are especially effective at withstanding the wind and rain.
The material that is used to construct a residential post box will determine its effectiveness, cost, and range of design options. Aluminium and stainless steel post boxes are the most secure and the strongest options while plastic post boxes are the most affordable. Plastic post boxes can offer a surprisingly safe environment for your mail thanks to improved treatment and better quality plastic than was once available. Similarly, metal post boxes come in a wider selection of designs than they once did.
Mailboxes need to look good because they will become a part of the exterior of your building. Whatever type of residential post box you choose you should be able to find a colour and general design type that perfectly matches the design and look of your building. While design is important it is also important to ensure that the post box you choose performs the required task of offering a secure and reliable home for your mail.
