How Does The Parcel Safe Box Signature Digit Work? - November 28, 2008
As part of a parcel safe box there is a sixteen digit unique number which can be used in place of a signature by a lot of couriers and for a lot of postal deliveries. This convenient method of essentially signing for your delivery means that you do not need to be home to take collection of items and if you are out then you won’t miss the delivery and be forced to arrange another one or try to get to your main post office to collect the item.
The code is printed on the inside of the parcel safe box which is left open until a delivery is made. The delivery person then leaves the parcel, notes the number down, and twists the lock shut on the parcel safe box. Incidentally, only you have a key to the twist lock ensuring complete security of your parcels and deliveries. Once the digit has been taken, it can then be used as proof of delivery for any reason or purpose as required by the courier or delivery person.
The parcel safe box is a great addition to the outside of your home. It provides you with a convenient and simple method to collect any deliveries that are made; in many cases, this even includes recorded deliveries that require a signature as proof of receipt because of the existence of the unique sixteen digit number. Coated in a weatherproof material, the digit can be collected and noted by the delivery person.
