Choosing A Post Box - November 13, 2008

Filed under: Maibox Articles — admin @ 4:20 pm

There are several factors to consider when choosing a mailbox. Primarily, you need to consider the amount of mail you receive to determine whether you will need a standard capacity or extra large capacity mailbox but you should also determine where the mailbox will be fitted so you can also judge the most appropriate type of access and retrieval. Security, durability, and design will also factor into the equation while more specialist mailboxes like the multi occupancy mailbox or through glazing mailboxes will demand entirely different requirements.

Mailboxes aren’t all the same standard size. Normal mailboxes should prove more than adequate for the average home user that only receives one or two small pieces of post a day, but if you regularly have newspapers and magazines delivered or you receive large A4 envelopes then you might want to consider the use of extra large capacity mailboxes or the addition of newspaper holders or a parcel safe box.

Mailboxes are generally designed to offer security and durability because many of them are erected on the outside of the building. An insecure or easily damaged mailbox can lead to damaged or lost mail so if you have special requirements with this regard then you should consider stainless steel and extra strong mailboxes to overcome any potential problems.

The design and visual appeal is especially important for outdoor mailboxes and choosign a design that fits well with the outside of your building will ensure that an external mailbox looks good as well as performs its duties as well as possible.
