Keeping it indoors - June 29, 2009
Letter boxes come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, designs and colours so choosing one is not always as easy as it might seem. How you choose your letter boxes will depend on what you need them for, your budget and, of course, your personal taste.
Everyone needs letter boxes despite the lessening of hand written letters to friends and family since the internet took over as a main method of correspondence for many. However, others still need to be able to post you mail, unfortunately often in the form of bills.
In and out of doors
You get two fundamental types of letter boxes. You get those ones that live safely indoors and those that stand at their post outside. Obviously these two kinds of mail boxes are going to be different from one another because of their different locations. Indoor mailboxes can be made of less hardy materials as they don’t need to stand up to the elements.
They do not need to be incredibly high security letter boxes as they are not in the firing line of mail thieves. Yes, your indoor letter boxes are well protected, comfortable and in a rather cushy spot.
Indoor letter boxes also tend to be less decorative than their outdoor counterparts because they are not in the public eye. Indoor letter boxes will also probably have a lower price tag attached because of their less demanding design. Less durable materials, lower security construction and less decorative design all contribute to a more affordable letter box.
